UR Updates is a feature in AR Tracking that gives BOMs a dedicated place to record discharge decisions for their Medicare and Insurance residents directly in SNF Metrics.
When the BOM has updated and confirmed the residents, trackers can see the latest decisions on the UR Updates page and on each resident's detail page.
Who Uses UR Updates?
There are two types of users:
- BOMs (Business Office Managers) use UR Updates to record the outcome of their weekly UR meeting. Either during or after meeting with the Social Worker, the BOM opens SNF Metrics, starts a session, and confirms or updates the discharge plan for each resident.
- Trackers use UR Updates to review what the BOM has already entered before or during the weekly call. They can also add tasks directly from the UR page.
Who Can Access UR Updates?
UR Updates is permission based and is not visible to all users by default. There are three permission levels:
- "View UR Updates Page" - Allows starting sessions, updating resident UR related information, and confirming them.
- Above permission + "View Resident Detail Page" - Includes everything above plus the ability to edit the Tracker's Comment field, and click a resident's name to open their full detail page.
- Above permissions + "Can Create and Edit Tasks" - Includes everything above plus the ability to add tasks from the resident drawer.
Contact your administrator to have the correct permission assigned to your account.
How UR Updates Fits Into the Weekly Workflow
- The BOM attends the UR meeting with the Social Worker.
- As part of or after the meeting, the BOM opens UR Updates in SNF Metrics and starts a session for that week.
- The BOM goes through each resident — confirming nothing changed or updating their status if it did.
When the BOM and tracker weekly call happens, the tracker can see everything the BOM already entered. Short-term residents that are confirmed do not need to be discussed. The call focuses only on residents that need attention.
