Signing Off an Incident

Signing Off an Incident

What is Sign-Off?

To Close a Risk Reporter incident, it must be signed off by at least one user in a role designated for sign-off. This step confirms that the user has reviewed and approved the reported incident and its details.
As soon as the first designated role signs off, the incident is marked as Closed. If your organization requires multiple sign-offs, other roles will still be prompted to sign, even after the incident is Closed.

Every organization has its own designated sign-off roles. To check or update the roles assigned to sign off, please contact help@snfmetrics.com. This setup cannot be changed from within the system.

Who Can Sign Off?

  1. Sign-off is assigned to roles, not individual users.
  2. Only users in roles that have been designated for sign-off can complete this action.
  3. Once one role signs off, the incident is closed. Other roles may still sign if multiple sign-offs are required.

How to Sign Off?

  1. After an incident is "submitted", a section "Sign-off" will appear beneath the "Investigate" section.

  2. In this section, you’ll see a list of all roles required to sign off.
  3. Under each role it will say whether or not they signed off.
  4. If your role is listed, you’ll see a “Sign Off and Mark Closed” button under your role.
  5. Click the button to complete the sign-off. This will change the incident’s status to Closed.

Prompt and List of Incidents Awaiting Sign-Off

  1. Users in sign-off roles will receive a daily pop up showing a list of incidents awaiting their sign-off.
  2. This list will automatically pop up once per day.
  3. You can also open the list of awaiting incidents by selecting the orange "Awaiting Sign-Off" button on the top right corner of the Risk Reporter homepage.

If your organization requires multiple sign-offs, users in other required roles will continue to receive prompts, even after the incident is marked as Closed.
